Description
This artwork was created in Mt. Longhu, Jiangxi, from 2010 to 2013. The artist used the ink as the medium to depict the landscape. It features an overall vertical composition (see the additional file). Within the composition, the fluidity of the ink is visible. This flow creates a visual path that makes people view the work from top to bottom. Additionally, the brushwork is both soft and firm, retaining a sense of force. Through the artist’s control of ink density and moisture, the image reveals rich layers and textual variation. From a stable black top, it gradually shifts into more complex, flowing, and intertwining ink below. The work creates a sense of growing uncertainty and chaos. This transition echoes early Chinese philosophy, especially Daoism: all things are not shaped by external force, but arise and grow naturally.
