Description

In 2018, the artist jumped from the minimal to the maximal as she moved from the microworld to the macroworld. She came to the Liu River in Sichuan, China. 峨眉 is a mountain in China. On a dry cascade, she constructed a 200-meter-long white cloth structure. The ink traces its descent along the natural vertical topographical structure. Elsewhere, she spread a massive sheet of rice paper across a mountain road, applying multiple layers of ink wash. Over time, the paper and ink were influenced by random natural factors such as gravity, wind, humidity, atmospheric pressure, condensation, rain, sunlight, and terrain. These material differences and changes are reflected in the ink. The multiple natural forces that cultivate an authentic resonance between heaven and earth.
