Description
"Leopard’s Vein" is a work embodied with Sun Liang’s distinctive artistic language. It presents unknown life forms floating in mid-air; some of these creatures take on reptilian shapes, marked by leopard spots and possess sexual organs, yet their movements resemble those of microscopic unicellular organisms—two-dimensional, floating, engaged only in the most basic acts of eating or sex. Their awkward bodily poses and structures appear like clumsy textbook reconstructions of prehistoric animals, while at the same time evoking mental things rather than physical objects, as if disparate elements had been stitched together in a dreamy way.
