Description
"Stars of the Milky Way” is an oil painting that exemplifies Sun Liang’s distinctive artistic language. The title and cosmic background signal a celestial theme, yet the foreground is populated by hybrid, dreamlike forms that resemble unicellular organisms—motifs to which the artist repeatedly returns. These ambiguous creatures hover in a deep blue void, floating between chaos and void, as though on the verge of emerging into life, which establishes a symbolic linkage between the cosmos and the generative processes of life itself.
