Description
The new “gongbi”painting is divided into two sections in the center. At the left side, half of a white horse’s body is depicted facing right. In contrast to the whiteness of the horse, the background is filled with a blend of brown and black. At the right side, an empty bird cage is seated on a wooden table that is covered with a white tablecloth, located at the corner of a room. On sides there are two blank areas that look like parts of the colophon in a mounted traditional ink painting. A signature of the artist and his seal is posited at the bottom left. (Yifan Shang ‘25)
