Description
The new "gongbi" painting is divided into two sections from the middle. To the left part of the painting, a dog in standing position is rendered on a piece of rumpled cloth and gazes at the viewer. Several identical white hats are floating in the air, forming a curve above the dog. While the background of the left part is filled with creamy white, the right side of the painting is applied with dark brown as its background. A specimen of a butterfly that is kept in a black box is depicted at the center of the composition, and this butterfly is rendered in green, yellow and black. (Yifan Shang ‘25)
