Description
This new “gongbi” painting is divided into three sections. In the center, there is a bird standing on a tree. A spring view is rendered in the background. Pink blossoms, lush grass, and the tree are major components of the painting. In contrast to the colorful and vibrant depiction in the center, the main colors of the rest of the painting are light blue and dark blue. At the left side, only half of a female body is shown. Wearing a pair of loose white pants and traditional Chinese cloth shoes, this person crossed legs while lying down on a wooden bench. To the right side, half of a Chinese wooden armchair is depicted with the coverage of a piece of white cloth/robe. As the title “An Erotic Song” implies, the painting may carry a hint of affair.
