Be it known, by these present; that the Rev. Philander Chase Junior, being duly ordained a Deacon, in the Church of Christ according to the canons and Rites of the Prot. Episcopal Church of the United States of America, is authorized, and I do by the Grace of God, authorize him to preach the word of God and to administer the Holy Sacrament of Baptism: -- and furthermore so far as the power ecclesiastical can go consistently with the laws civil, he is authorized to solemnize the holy Office of Matrimony in this state and Diocese of Ohio.
In witness whereof I do hereunto set my name
