Description

In the series, the artist depicts the human figure in an unrestrained and wild Expressionist style. The figures occupy nearly the entire canvas: one work shows two intertwined half-length figures, the other a single crouching figure with its head thrown back. The limbs are rendered in simple brushstrokes, and the open, tooth-baring mouths form the visual focus. The color palette is dominated by ultramarine, with white highlights adding volume, black outlining the forms, and pink concentrated at the mouths and joints, suggesting bodily distress.
