Description
Using a flat, painterly style, the artist depicts two figures standing at the center of a black circle, a porcelain bowl between them and a lamp hanging directly above it. Both figures are painted in muted, cool blue-grays. Their faces and limbs are pared down to simplified, abstract forms. The woman is dressed only in her underwear, while the man stands with his back to the viewer. Behind them, two circular portraits float in the air.(Angela ‘28)
