Description
In this piece, Hu has placed lights on top of an open-face book and below it hands a chaotic jumble of cables. The pages of the book are densely filled with texts, but the pages appear serene and inviting especially in contrast with the mess of cables. The artist may be attempting to contrast the two methods of communication: literary and electronic. She appears to be calling into question the myth that modern-day technology is more efficient than books. The piece has been left untitled. In Hu's artist statement she says, "The daily use, of common products obscures the inner meaning of their existence, I am interested in the crystal-clear of the glass, the industrial hardness poses a challenge since I was working with things of soft sogginess before". (Nicole Wang '26).
