This work is composed by newspapers. A Chinese worker is depicted in blue uniform and has a microphone in his hand. This microphone is connected to a machine which is placed on a cart and is pushed by a boy. “Do not lag behind” is written on the boy's leg in Chinese. Below the worker is a female portrait. She is in a red coat and gazes at the viewer. "Do not sharpen the knife, let life sharpen it" is written in Chinese calligraphy as the title. Slogans during the Cultural Revolution like "Pointing toward the bourgeoisie" is written on the work. (Yifan Shang '25)
