Description
This is a work as a proposal of the project "45 Degree as Reason," which invited artists' proposals using it as the concept of their work. "Bird Trap" is inspired by a type of childhood toy, "bird trap". Usually, rice is placed under the bamboo shroud as bait. When a bird approaches to peck the rice, the kid will pull the thread, the shroud will fall and the bird will be captured. The artist's "Bird Trap" is different as the prey is not birds, but humans instead. Some books on birds will be placed in the trap as bait, and a bird will be linked to the shroud, with a small stick to support it to form a 45 degree angle, by a thread. If someone approaches the books, the bird will be frightened and pull the tread, then the person will be captured. (Zhuocheng Jiang '26)
