Description

"Homework" is a component of the project "Develop Plan" by Three Men Studio (Sui Jianguo, Zhan Wang, and Yu Fan). Because Wangfujing Street , where the Central Academy of Fine Arts was located, is scheduled to be renovated into a commercial center in downtown Beijing In the early 1990s, the three artists mentioned above decided to implement this project in the old classroom of the Central Academy of Fine Arts as a reaction to the renovation. Zhan Wang's artwork "Homework" comprises orderly laid bricks that cover the site with mud. Meanwhile, construction debris is fabricated as a stream pouring into the classroom. (Zhuocheng Jiang '26)
