Oil painting

Description

In this painting, the artist uses vibrant, warm colors and her characteristic jagged, bold brushstrokes. It depicts multiple nudes that are assumedly female legs and torsos overlaid on top of one another. The artist does not shy away from depicting a realistic human form. The legs and torsos are individually unique in shape. The figures expose stomach paunches, long legs, and other characteristics nonconforming to the standardized "perfect" female form, a figure set as the benchmark for female beauty by an oppressive patriarchal society. This may be a rejection of the beauty standards imposed upon women by patriarchal dominance in society. In contrast, however, this painting may be celebrating the beauty of realistic female bodies.
