Description
This installation was created in 1991. A Jinhua ham is hung in the center against a dark gray background of the painting. A red irregular shape is drawn around this ham. On the left side of the work, a shield with a cross, a flower, and a dumpling are depicted in orange. To the right side, a Chinese traditional archway is drawn in orange as well. Besides, some Chinese and English words written at random positions around the ham, such as “Love” and “中华四味 (Four flavors of China)”. Below the ham, several tanks are depicted in white. As they all move toward the right direction, some explosive bombs are also portrayed on the road. At the bottom center of the work, a large “1990’s” is written in back. (Yifan Shang ‘25)
