Description

Two works are created in the series of art titled “White Channel”. In the first work, a plaster cast of a lizard is designed at a white channel that lays horizontally on the board. In the central part of the work, the plaster lizard is seemingly creeping from right to left, with its head pointing forward. Although the rest of the board is full of crumples and scratches, the white channel has a relatively smooth surface. In the second work, a smooth white channel is created vertically on an uneven surface, and a plaster cast of ant is designed on the channel with its head pointing upward. As stated by the artist, the “channel” represents a chance or possibility for moving forward and getting through a process. Therefore, one could reach the “shore” by going through the white channel. Check the link below for the second work in this series. (Yifan Shang ‘25)
