Description

The nutritious soil was purchased from Northeastern China and shipped to Beijing. The artist spread it out on the floor inside his house, which became a typical Apartment Art piece. He introduced what he believed was a healthy element to his home in response to the polluted environment. Thus, this artwork “dealt with a personal concern for his home environment in a small-scale manner with biological vitality”. Additionally, the original artwork was not open to the public due to its site-specific nature. Two films of the “Nutritious Soil” were documented and displayed in the Frankfurt Art Association and the Schirn Kunsthalle in Germany. See the link below for the second document.
