Description

Five photos were taken in this series of artwork, which is called the "Nutritious Soil". Each photograph has its own label indicating the name, location and time. There are three notions the artist want to express through this artwork: 1) "Nutritious Soil" is a type of superior quality earth from China's Greater Khingan Range (Dà Xīng'ān Lǐng), it contains "large visible quantities of various types of floral detritus and faunal excreta, providing minute quantities of floral and faunal growth hormones". 2) "Nutritious Soil" is a flow chart of living nature. 3) It is questionable whether or not "Nutritious Soil" has nutrition for its surrounding natural and cultural environments.
