Description
The backdrop of the painting seems to be located at a part of the Great Wall in Beijing, China. Before a stair of the Great Wall, Luciano Pavarotti, an Italian singer who went to China in the 1980s, dressed in blue shirt expands both of his arms, positioning himself in great excitement and happiness; same emotion is observed from his face and expression. Behind him, a human shaped silhouette looms, with slight shadows engulfing the outline, highlighting the silhouettes three-dimensionality. The silhouette could be a previous or ensuing motion of the figure, or it could be a mere spectral addition to the work. (Jerry Wu'23).
