Description
In this artwork, the artist wears a piece of fabric over his nose and mouth, of which parodies a facial mask. In his two hands, the artist holds a toy water gun, loaded, and ready to "fire". From the title of the work, we can assume the artist is in the position of defense. A looming assault, perhaps from the position of audience (as the artist is facing the viewer frontally), may have posed threats to the "defender". (Jerry Wu'23)
