Curtain, wind, and spring scale
Description
In this installation, a curtain is applied to a venting window, where wind flows through without any resistance. At each of the hooks that supports the curtain, the artist places a spring scale, measuring the forces produced by the wind passing through/on the curtain. "Venting" is another of Qian's artistic try at incorporating the science of physics into fine art. Incorporated also is the philosophy of language: that every motion present in the world, visible or not, tangible or not, can be expressed precisely by language or signs. "Venting" is an ambitious interdisciplinary work that invites other subjects to engage with art.
