Description
Two major components constituted this installation: a television displaying a pre-recorded video of a working fan, and white gypsum powder scattering on the iron sheets grounded on floor. The television airing the running fan is fixated upon a black support that much simulates the one on an actual fan. The televised "fan" heads downward to the scattered powder, as if mimicking the work of the subject it represents. But of course, the digital fan proves to be futile at blowing up the powder. The very futility might play into the artist's aim to add a conceptual layer to the installation, to add a artistic/aesthetic purity to the work, the one that detaches from existing rationales of art history, or even life.
