My dear Bishop McIlvaine
It will give Mrs. Lawrence + myself so much pleasure to invite Mr. Hewson, yourself + your son on Saturday in time for dinner + for your short stay till Tuesday.
We were indeed to remain at Lucerne over the Sunday so that we were obliged to travel through the night + only to remain a few hours in Paris on the Tuesday so as to fulfil an engagement [?] for 14h in London-
In driving to the place will you direct your coachman to go through Battersea Park to Battersea Rise and our house will be found at the corner of Clapham Common on the right.
[?]
Dear Bishop McIlvaine
from very truly
[?] Lawrence
