Mt. Vernon.--The 20th Century club held its regular meeting Monday at the home of Mrs. Grace White, Sychar rd. Dr. John Tramont was guest speaker…Tickets are on sale for the "Fun and Frolic" slated for Wednesday at Memorial hall sponsored by the Daughter Elks. A chenille bed-spread will be given to lucky ticket holder...Mrs. Rebecca Johnson died at her home Sunday at the age of 83. Funeral services were held Wednesday from Dowd's funeral home. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Agnes Harris, and brother, William Turner...William Brown, jr., died Sunday at birth at Mercy hospital. Funeral services were held Monday from Miller O'Brien funeral parlor. Surviving ar [sic] (are) the parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Brown, sr., a sister, Sandra, and grandfather, James Brown. Mrs. Thomas Brooks was called to Charlottesville, Va., by the death of a brother...Mr. and mrs. Frank White and B.L. White attended the Tavern Keepers Assn. dinner at the Alcove Monday...Mrs. Henry Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Carroe Johnston of Newark visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnston Sunday...Charles Jackson sustained a dislocated shoulder Saturday while working and was taken to Mercy hospital, attended and released to his home...Mrs. Elva Hogan and Mrs. W.H. Williams of Newark visited relatives Sunday.
