Abstract
Set against the backdrop of love, guilt, and religious morality, this collection delves into the intricate dynamics of Southern Baptist families. By incorporating elements of Calvinist theology and examining the implications of religious ideology on sexual ethics, the stories illuminate the tensions inherent within a Christian family and the Christian life. The theoretical framework for this project draws from scholarly discourse on Calvinism, religious guilt, and complementarian sexuality, offering a critical lens through which to analyze the stories’ themes and characters. Through alternating points of view and intimate character portraits, the collection aims to immerse readers in the complex emotional landscapes of its protagonists, inviting reflection on the universal experiences of family and faith.
