Abstract
This study examines the ways in which various Ch‰Ûªorti‰Ûª groups in the CopÌÁn Valley, Honduras engage with tourism. I first investigate the relationships between the Ch‰Ûªorti‰Ûª and the ancient Mayas, as well as international conceptions of modern Mayas. Next, I analyze how the Ch‰Ûªorti‰Ûª shape their identities in order to engage in tourism; and how the Ch‰Ûªorti‰Ûª and others represent modern Ch‰Ûªorti‰Ûª and ancient Maya culture.
