Abstract
Who is guarding the guardians? Civilian control of the military is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and is essential to the continued success of the nation. This thesis examines the changing nature of civil-military relations since the conclusion of the Vietnam War and how embracing the so-called “normal” theory has damaged the relationship between civilian leaders and the military.
