Abstract
Louisiana and Missouri are two states with comparatively lax entry regulations for carryout liquor stores. Liquor license data is used to analyzing market structure. The data also makes a nice case study for discussing the ordered probit methodology and the importance of carefully defining markets. Finally, the empirical model can be applied to examine the distribution of firms in more regulated states.
