Dear Henry;
The enclosed circular explains which I am thin[k]ing of when I ask you for information as to the present residence and occupation of the following old Kenyon students from your section.
Among those from C[?]ville in regard to whom I lack this information are the following; Robert Laramore, 1834; Wm. Thompson 1833; Marcus A. Brown 1838; Henry N. Hedges 1827; H.H. Sage and [?] W. Stage 1849, Jonath. W., Henry C. and [?] C. Haston 1855; S. Alwater. G.W. Gregg, [?].P.W. Doddridge 1834; John Griffith, 1849;
From [?]— Sam Adams 1833; Harvey L. Ward; Francis A. Worthington 1834; Theodore Shorer, Lewis James, Abraham James, Wm. James, [?] James, John A. [?], [?] W. James, Wm. Bond Hood, John Hood Jr. [?] Hood, H.T. Adams, Thomas James Hood, D.Meade Grighton, Edward P.Jiffin, [?] W. Morris, Anthony S. Davenport, Thomas Jacob, Alfred Douglas;
There was an Edward Fishpool from Lancaster 1834— can you tell me anything about him?
I desire to give the present residence and occupation as far as possible of all the former students who are living— and where any have died. I wish to state if I can ascertain their occupation and the time and place of their death.
My object is to make this work a perpetual record of Kenyon students and while it will serve to recall recollections of the departed- it will also be a directory in regard to those who survived in the year 1863.
I will be thankful for any suggestions that may occur to you in regard to the work— and any matters of the past. Anecdotes, incidents that you may think worthy of notice please give to me. I know of none of the old students with a more retentive memory or taking a greater interest than you in old Kenyon.
In haste, Truly thine,
-
