My dear Wife,
I have been writing a long letter to George Denison (which I wish you to see) and am almost tired to death. My pains in my broken Ribs are very great; therefore can not say but little.
I am on the whole better.
No sleep yet except cat naps – nevertheless am supported wonderfully.
They talk of moving me this day to my Physician Dr. Smiths
Your faithful
P. Chase
