My Dear Wife
In walking down to the River just now I was met by Mr. E.P. Haines who holds the accounts of Col. Mack. He told me that there was an acct. against me in the books. I called to examine and find the same to be according to the inclosed Bill. If you have not a rct. for the same I believe it is justly due. Tell me in your next and I will act accordingly & pay it if due. Your faithful
P. Chase
