Dear Brother Allen
I know you will join me in blessing God for over ruling the hearts of men and uniting their jarring sentiments, as he has evidently done this day in Ohio Legislature. What think you at the passing of a Bill authorizing a Memorial to Congress for the grant of Lands for the benefit of Kenyon College! And this almost unanimously! One fortnight ago: and the person who should have predicted such an event would have been supposed partially deranged. This is the Lord’s doings; and, as in all things else relating to Kenyon College, it is marvelous in our eyes!
I shall with the leave & protecting blessing of God be in Washington in a few weeks from this. Ever your grateful Friend & Brother
P Chase
