My Dear wife:
I write you this to introduce Daniel J. Garrison as a student in our College. His father who lives in Salem N. Jersey about 30 miles down the Delaware from Philaa. came by the way of the Lakes and hearing at Mt. Vernon that I was at Gambier came out to see me and committed his son to my charge. I hope the Lad’ll prove worthy of so good and amiable a Father!
I go hence to Delaware.
Pray send my parchment my diploma as well as letters of orders Priest and Deacon. I think Mr. West will return from Dele. immediately to the lakes.
Your faithful Husband
Phr. Chase
