Dear Brother,
You see by the within that I have left to be paid at your order $9.00 which you can draw for at your pleasure which I hope will be soon. But take care that you inclose the same with your own signature else it will not be paid. Put it to any use you please for the boys till such time and it becomes your due for Philander’s board, a donation according to my [?] command. We are now on the way to sail for N. Orleans tomorrow morning; of course I can but a few words with you. I pray for your happiness and that of my dear boys, and hope that you and they will not [?] to [?] with Him who governeth all things your fervent [?[ for an [?] on the great water.
