Rev. and Dear Sir,
Grateful to God, the fountain of all goodness for his most merciful protection and blessing I beg have to inform you of my safe arrival on Sunday last in my native land. To meet the Convention of the [P. E.] Church in the state of Ohio as early as possible before the setting in of the coming winter has been the motive which has guided of late the most of my proceedings. Having [passed] the danger & delays of the sea I have [more] of a long journey with a large family to encounter before I can have the pleasure of seeing you. No period therefore earlier than the first Wednesday being the third day of November next can be appointed for assembling of the Convention with any moral certainty.
Let then that be the day on which by God’s goodness we may all assemble in Chillicothe. Pray give notice accordingly to all within your reach and in the way you shall judge most proper. The Lay Deputies I hope will generally attend.
I am your most faithful friend and Brother
[Chase P.]
