Dear Sir:
Herewith a copy of the Gambier Biennial of 1872 is sent to your address. Some alledged[sic] errors in the [lists] of Professors and Tutors for the first few years of the College have been called to my attention. Will you please to examine it and point out to me any mistakes that you see.
Then records of the College Faculty now in my possession begin with March 1834, but Dr. McElroy, in a recent letter, assures me that records of the proceedings of the Faculty were kept for years before that date. Will you please to advise me whether any such minutes are among the papers of Bishop Chase? I am trying to collect and preserve all original documents connected with the early history of Kenyon, and any assistance which you can [recover] [me], will confer a great obligation.
Very respectfully
Eli T. Tappan
