For Mrs S.M. Chase
I have examined the Cost Book kept by you for the Bishop & find it correct.
I have [balanced] it and find the Expenditures of the Bishop for the College exceed his Receipts for some $19200.96
This amount [?] [your] Debit [balance] upon the College Book-viz- $8759.98 [?] a [?] due the Bishop of $10440.98
