Messrs Gardner and Grenwold,
Gentlemen I have just rec’d your favor of the 19th sept. and in answer to your request, I have the happiness to say that the Rev. Mr. Chase was with the unanimous consent of the S. Committee of this Diocese recommended for consecration ~ The testimonials were forwarded by the Secretar of our Board the Rev. Mr. Lyell early in September and were directed to Chester Grenwold Worthington ~ We presume you must have received them shortly after the date of your last communication to me.
