Dear Sir
Your letter of the 26th of may did not reach me till last mail--after the Convention had adjourned and dispersed. for this I am sorry-- and more so that you did not attend in person yourself--for never had I so pleasant & encouraging a meeting with my diocese. We are but few in no. but in zeal and love for the interests of true religion I trust we are not wanting.
Yesterday our Organ was packed & today it will be commence putting up in its place.
One new Candidate for Orders was entered on the left last Convention & we hope for a considerable augmentation of the school the coming term.
Soon I am to set off on my tour to the south and West-- Shall be about 3 Sundays.
At my return may I not receive and answer to this question. May not I send your last letter to me under cover to some friend at the East with a view to the raising of a scholarship in Jubilee College and with an expectation that you will fill it as a Candidate for Holy Orders?
Your friend & Serv’t
in Christ Jesus our Lord
Phil’r Chase
