Abstract
The Akhan Kervansaray before extensive renovation.
Description
It consists of open and closed sections. The closed section contains two rows of pillars and has a domed ceiling. Akhan also contains two portal entrances in which one reads of the commissioner's name and year. Kervansarays were crucial on the medieval silk road as merchants would travel hours on horseback in order to reach their destination. -CK
