Description
There are two documents: the Exhibition checklist and a scholarly essay written by Zhang Yuxing. The eassy examines artist's philosophy of All Things (万物) through three conceptual threads: Ruins-View — the use of ink to render nature as ruin rather than landscape, encompassing large-scale environmental works such as the Emei Waterfall series; Transformation of Form — an exploration of the transformation between wave, sound, and matter, corresponding to the Wave Archaeology series; and World-Making — the invention of an imagined dynasty known as the "Lotus Dynasty" through handscrolls, in which poetry replaces warfare as the power. The essay also traces the artist’s environmental ink practice, developed over nearly a decade, documenting the transformation of land art projects into a philosophical and cosmological expression.
