Description
Template is a large scale installation by Ai Weiwei, consisting of 1,001 wooden doors and window frames from demolished buildings dating to China's Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911). Ai reassembled these architectural elements into a seven meter tall upright structure. On June 20, 2007, shortly after exhibition opened, a storm caused the entire structure to collapse.
