Description
“Law of the Journey” is an installation artwork. The original piece consists of a 60-meter-long inflatable rubber boat filled with 300 faceless human figures. The exhibition in Hong Kong is a reduced version of the original work. Since 2015, when Ai Weiwei first traveled to Lesvos, Greece, and had close interactions with refugees, he has been deeply concerned with the global refugee crisis. As a member of the Chinese diaspora, he is personally connected to this issue. This artwork offers a special space to commemorate those unseen people from around the world who, for various reasons, were forced to leave their hometowns. (Zhuocheng Jiang ’26)
