Description
This piece is larger than many of the artist's works. She painted intersecting lines onto a 40 x 60" sheet of paper to create a grid with small squares. In each square, she had then painted in a symbol, evoking calligraphy on grid paper. The paper appears corrugated in some sections and the edges of the symbols are blurred. The title suggests that this piece is Hou's interpretation of stone slabs used for calligraphy practice. (Nicole Wang '26)
