Description

This installation -- or arguably sculpture -- consists a giant wooden column composed by the "Mortise and Tenon" structure (one of Fu's frequent artistic practices). Under the tremendous wooden column lays a block of plastic foam, of which is distorted by the forces imposed on it by the column. Peng De, a scholar researched in Fu Zhong Wang, proposed the analogy of the column to the presence of male of patriarchy, and the repressed foam as the oppressed -- yet simultaneously the potential force to topple the oppressor (the column).
