Description

The "Super Realistic Series" is a compilation of the artist's early works. The first two pictures in this document are from "Pedestrian Walkway" and the piece from the last picture is called "The Weightless Woman." The artist uses a mannequin to establish the shape of each sculpture. Then it is made from cast copper mold. Every piece is a freeze-frame image of a series of movements. However, as opposed to classical sculpture, he did not pick the most representative moment of a series of movements. Therefore, his works possess a sense of strangeness. Then, later in his “Mao Suit Series”, he even amplifies this sense of strangeness by distorting the posture of sculpture and dehumanizing “Mao Suit”. (Zhuocheng Jiang '26)
