Description
This painting is based on documentary photographs from 1951. In the foreground, Mao is looking into the distance, while two young pioneers are smiling. Every character's clothes are decorated with floral patterns and distinguished from the background by broad contour lines. Tiananmen Square and the Great Hall of the People are in the background, both in red. Balloons with revolutionary slogans hanging below are floating. (Zhuocheng Jiang '26)
