Description
"A Historical Drama" embodies the central idea of the show, "My Window-You Jindong Album Exhibition of Own Works," namely, prying on the history though a window, which is displayed in the middle of his other works, “Ba Wang Bie Ji." For information on this work, see https://digital.kenyon.edu/zhou/476/. The majority of the work is surrounded by many protrait photos hanging from a red string. In Chinese tradition, shaving one's hair is generally recognized as humiliation. Figures in film photos are all shaved hairs by the artist through computer-synthetization. As the artist had said in his email to Zhou Yan, "the game of power and humiliatingly the loser has been an old play in Chinese history."
