Description
This photograph shows artwork by Yang Ke-Qin presented in a gallery showing. In this work, what seems like a large painting is actually ten canvasses juxtaposing each other. On the canvasses, glass water bottles and automobiles are depicted in bold reds with white highlights. The background is light and mainly cream with some light-green accents, contrasting the bold red colors of the subjects of this piece. Within the images, notice the harsh, jagged, and expressive brush strokes, that suggests an turmoil that the artist is attempting to convey. Some of the images on the canvas transgress boundaries and take up more than one canvas at a time, while other images of vehicles and water bottles are harshly cut off by the canvas borders.
